What is the cheapest private jet you can buy?
At the very bottom of the market, older Learjets and early Citations can appear below $500,000. The ranking separates fixed asking prices from auction openings and estimated market values, because the cheapest advertised jet is not always the cheapest aircraft to own.
Why are some old private jets so cheap?
Acquisition price is only one part of the economics. Engines, inspections, avionics, parts, fuel and calendar maintenance can easily exceed the purchase price of an older jet.
Are auction prices ranked like asking prices?
They can appear in the ranking, but they are clearly labeled as auction or estimated references. An opening bid is not a guaranteed final sale price.
Which jets are best for owner-pilots?
Use the Jet class, Seats and Price basis filters. VLJs and smaller Citation-family aircraft are generally more relevant to owner-pilots than legacy midsize jets.
